Footprints in the Sand

"It was then, that you carried me". an extract from Footprints in The Sand, (below) a poem most of you will be familiar with. But, because of you it is of greater importance to me now than it ever was. Here’s why. This morning, during a rare 10 minutes to myself, my mind returned to the moment I peeped in the window of the Montessori school Adam would have been in and saw an empty chair. As I walked away my ability to take another step was impaired by unbareable grief. Physically not able walk I called Jackie who had to come a collect me. In a very similar way there have been times where my confidence would be shot, my emotions would overwhelm me and I would feel unable to continue to spread Adam’s message of love hugs and kisses. But, as if my fate It has always been at those moments I would get a ding on my phone and a beautiful message of support, encouragement or how my work is helping others would arrive in my inbox. Those messages literally picked me up and carried me when I could not take another step on my journey. The power of words of encouragement can change a life and your words have helped change mine. Your actions are a lesson to us all that every now and again someone needs a helping hand, a hug, words of encouragement, a cup of coffee or just a text or phone call. It can make a big difference and I will be passing on the kindness you showed me to others. Well done Adam’s Army your actions speak louder than words. Thank you. Benji Footprints in the Sand. One night I dreamed a dream. As I was walking along the beach with my Lord. Across the dark sky flashed scenes from my life. For each scene, I noticed two sets of footprints in the sand, One belonging to me and one to my Lord. After the last scene of my life flashed before me, I looked back at the footprints in the sand. I noticed that at many times along the path of my life, especially at the very lowest and saddest times, there was only one set of footprints. This really troubled me, so I asked the Lord about it. "Lord, you said once I decided to follow you, You'd walk with me all the way. But I noticed that during the saddest and most troublesome times of my life, there was only one set of footprints. I don't understand why, when I needed You the most, You would leave me." He whispered, "My precious child, I love you and will never leave you Never, ever, during your trials and testings. When you saw only one set of footprints, It was then that I carried you."
